Thankful Knife Tool Tutorial by Anita

Hello Everyone:
I hope that those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving had a great one.  I love looking through the Digi Playground store to see what other uses I can find for cut files.  I found this Weave Bracelet by Minilou and knew that I was making holiday breads for our local food pantry and wanted to be able to decorate the breads.  I used the bracelet cut file and worked with it to make a band to put around the bread loaf.
I took the bracelet cut file and put it on my mat.  I then chose the knife tool and cut the end of the bracelet with the side you put the tab into off.  I wanted two layers to my band so did the same to both files.  I measured my bread so that I knew how many of the bands I needed to cut.
 1. Ungroup your files
2.  Delete what you don’t need
3.  Click on the knife too
4.  Place start cut at top of item to be cut and drag arrow down
5.  Use select tool (arrow at the top of your left side tool bar) to cut
6.  Move cut piece away
You can also use the eraser tool if you find that your line is not perfectly straight.  You can use the cut lines on the mat on your screen to guide you as well.
Here is a close up of the band.
Weave Bracelet Thankful short envelope bag
I used the cut file called Thankful short envelope bag by Jamie Cripps for the top decoration.  I know that Thanksgiving is over but this would be a fun way to decorate your winter holiday gift breads.
Be sure to check out the Digi Playground store for these and many other wonderful cut files.

Santa’s Mustaches Shadow Box Sliding Card by Agnes

absolutely adorable.

this svg file was not for santa’s but we can do whatever we want to do, right? lol

Santa’s Mustaches
3-1/8″ x 4-1/4″tall

if you look in the digi playground store you will find this cutie under carina gardner’s files or in the search box as:
“mustache shadow box sliding card”.
i really like the shadow box effect.
i used some super thick cardstock i have in my stash covered with red paper.

the mustaches are covered with stickles sprinkled with some fine glitter. i was looking for the glue that looks like snow but couldn’t find it. then i thought i could have used some texture gesso or something similar, but oh well.
i think it looks pretty anyway. :)

this is the sliding part of it. it does not move the mustaches tough.
it just slides on the back of the card, just that you know. 😀

here is a video where miss carina gardner shows another shadow box sliding card.

and, this is how the svg file looks like in the store.

it has been linked for your convenience.
they have many other shadow boxes with different themes and orientation.
check them out.
they are really cute!
and this is it for today.
hope you enjoyed it.and once again, thanks for stopping by.

It’s time for Snowmen! by Melissa Craig

Hi everyone!  It’s Melissa and I am sharing one of my favorite things in the whole wide world.  Snowmen!!!  I am such a sucker for a snowman, so much so that I usually dedicate an entire week on my blog to snowman projects.  I’ll do that in December.
But today I’m featuring Samantha Walker’s Snowman Nesting Boxes.  What a great idea!  These boxes will nest inside each other for easy storage and then stack up to the cutest display.  Tuck little treats inside each box to give to someone special.  Instead of the paper scarf that comes in the file, I used Kiwi Grosgrain ribbon.  I meant to put ribbon around the base of the hat but got too excited to put this together that I had already glued on the holly leaves and berry when I realized my little piece of ribbon was still sitting on my table.  He’s still super cute!
There are so many wonderful sweet Christmas files available in the store and it’s time to get those projects in the making.  Thank you for stopping by!

Cricut Explore Design Space Files

Hello and a big welcome to all our new friends!

It’s Jamie here with you today and we are going to be talking about Cricut Design Space and our SVG files!

Most of our SVG cutting files are adapted for Cricut Explore Design Space users. You can find them easily in the store when you see these compatibility logos on the design’s detail page (see logos below.)

SVG files compatible with Cricut Explore

If you don’t see these icons on the file you want to purchase, that’s okay! We will get you all fixed up!

Here’s the back story… When we first started the site we didn’t understand that Design Space handled the SVG files differently so we began loading all our files as we create them for other softwares.  Once we started playing around with Design Space, we adapted our files so that they would easily work with the Cricut software. Many of our newer files are all set but some of our older files need conversions to make them work easier in the Design Space software.  Here’s how you can tell if you need a conversion…

  1.  They won’t have those adorable little icons on the file description.
  2.  You will only have one SVG file within your .zip folder.  The DS friendly SVG files are labeled with the letters “DS” in the file name – signifying Design Space.
  3. Your file will look similar to the image below rather than have colored pieces.

6ct Andes Free File

What do you do if you purchase a file that isn’t Design Space Friendly? If you come across such a file. We are happy to convert them free of charge. You simply need to request the conversion through our contact us form!

Once you have your Design Space Friendly file, we have a couple tutorials you can check out as well.  You can find those HERE and HERE!

And remember!  We have free files so you can sample our cuts HERE and of course be sure to check back each Monday to see the FREE file offerings we have!

Lastly, should you have any questions at any time, please feel free to contact us through our contact us form!

Happy Crafting!
