Happy New Year by Agnes

hello all,
agnes here for the digi playground.
i hope you all had a great christmas!
mine was relaxed with happiness all around us.
dear son was able to spend 10 days with us and we had many get together’s with family and friends.
not every year is this busy, :)
anyway, here i am sharing another handmade card using an svg from the
digi playground store.
5.25″ x 4″ card
super cute!
my inspiration for the color pink on this card was from the pantone 2016 color of the year: rose quartz.
this is the svg i used for my card:
2016 Folded Card
it was designed by miss carina gardner.

i wanted to add a few more elements to it:
banner, branches, circle, stars, happy new year are die cuts NOT included in the file.

i also added some glitter with stickles for some new year’s bling.
and with this i am wishing you a great 2016 year.
may god bless you all!

Getting ready for 2016 by Melissa Craig

Hello DigiPlaygrounders!  I hope you’re enjoying your holidays in the way that you enjoy them most.  Christmas morning at my house was really nice and the rest of the day pretty laid back.  That’s how I enjoy them the most!
As you can see with the photo up above, I’m getting ready for the New Year!  My friend is having a little get together for New Year’s Eve, so I thought Jamie’s 3D Firecracker would make the perfect centerpiece.  I know Saturday is the usual tutorial day, but I can’t make Jamie’s already perfect tutorial on how to make this firecracker any better, so I’m just here with a decoration suggestion.
Start with festive papers!  I am using holographic paper that I picked up at JoAnn’s.  If you use this paper, be sure to set you Cameo (or other electronic cutter) at heavy weight so that it double cuts.  Then you want to be sure you’re using a SUPER strong adhesive.  I used Scor-Tape.
I then cut numbers from two shades of glitter card stock. I also cut the sparkler pieces at the top from the same two glitter card stock.  I have to be honest, the numbers are by Jennifer Wambach and I’ve had them in my own collection from the Silhouette Online Store.  I’ve asked Jennifer to put these Scalloped Numbers in the store so be on the lookout for them.
I think this is going to look great on my friends buffet.  You could go a step further, if you don’t mind it being taken apart later…. put some goodies inside like noisemakers, candies and for the adults, shot size bottles of favorite liquers.
I hope this inspires you to get really festive and creative for your New Year’s get together.  Let me wish you a very Happy New Year – I hope 2016 holds many blessings and lots of creativity for you!

Packages Tied Up with String by Nicole

Growing up my mom had one present for us to open on Christmas Eve and it was always new pajamas.  I loved the tradition so much that I’ve continued it with my family.  This year I decided instead of just writing on these presents with a sharpie (please tell me I’m not the only one that marks their presents this way) I would attach some cute tags designed by Jennifer Rush.
I paired the cute tags with a stamped sentiment and attached them with a little ribbon and twine.
Let’s be honest this looks so much better than my tacky sharpie writing.  I wrapped these up the other night and got them under the tree after my boys had gone to bed.  They instantly noticed them in the morning and can’t wait to open them next week.
It took a little more time, but the effort was well worth it.  Hope you are getting all your packages tied up and adding that little extra special something to them.  Thanks for stopping by the blog today and happy crafting!

Shadow Box Christmas Card Trio by Anita

Hello and happy Friday:
I can hardly believe that Christmas Day is one week from today.  I whipped up these lovely shadow box Christmas cards designed by Carina Gardner which can be found in the Digi PlayGround store.  I am going to use these as thank you notes for holiday gifts that I will be lucky to receive.  I had fun playing with Stickles and Liquid Applique to take my cards to another level.  Samantha Walker is having a card challenge on the Facebook group and these cards would be perfect to participate with.

A Christmas Card Accordion Style by Agnes

hello all,

agnes here welcoming you to the digi playground.
today i am sharing this super cute and easy to make accordion card.
it could be a card or a mantle piece/table decoration for the holidays.
the file is from miss nic squirrell.

Christmas Village Papercut Accordion Card
i have noticed lots of these accordion cards around the blogs and i thought it was fun to show you how i decorated mine. i did a very simple job because to tell you the truth i did not have much time to spend on it. i bet we all are feeling the christmas rush, :(
anyway, i used a kraft cardstock because i liked the subtle faded plaid design.
i also i used my cricut explore to cut. it did take a bit long but the explore goes kind of slow so that’s that :). all very worthy.
on the photos below i am showing the accordion card after cutting it.
you notice i added some snow strip cuts on the roofs and on some windows.
these extra snow cuts DO NOT come with the file.
and a very thin snow bank on the bottom.
the instructions read that it cuts from a single piece of 8.5″ x 11″. i cut mine on a 12 x 12 and stretched it a bit longer: 11.6″ x 3.70″ to be exact.
on this photo i started adding some liquid pearls to give the illusion of snow.
i backed it up with kraft color cardstock and colored the open windows with a yellow marker.
the christmas trees were also colored and filled with glossy accents in to resemble ball ornaments.
this is just another view of the card.
i cut a few of them to make christmas cards. i will be adding the greetings and sentiment on the back. i will make sure to add they can be used as christmas decor too. i know they will love them.
please, accept my apologies for the bleed on the trees. i just realized it here but it is too late to change. so again, my sincere apologies for that bleed.
i use a macro setting on my camera and it shows the tiniest details but macro sized, :( therefore the bleed looks huge but is not. :).
and this is it for today.
they file has been linked for your convenience and this is the link for the digi playground store if interested. they have other designs in this fun accordion style.
thanks for stopping by and i would like to
wish you the best christmas celebrations. i hope they are filled with health and happiness.
